'The Olivas Collection'


The artwork of Bill Olivas conveys powerful portraiture of people of all flavors. His is a unique style, a mastery of precision that powerfully captures the essence of human feelings and emotions.

Influenced by early photography known as Daguerreotype, Bill's work is distinguished with rich sepia tones creating his own style.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, artist now lives in San Antonio, Texas. He is a retired engineer and a practicing portrait artist. Bill says " I have worked with hundreds of engineers all over the country and I have yet to meet another engineer that was an artist." He also says "it has always been easy for me to draw how someone feels, what was challenging was drawing how someone feels". He is self taught and refuses to take any lessons, wanting to do things his way.
