The artist Georgi Tuefchiev was born on 26.04.1934. in the village of Kuklen, Plovdiv. He completed his higher education at the Vassil Kolarov University in Plovdiv in 1960. For many years he has been working as a specialist in Bubarstvo and Permanent crops in the system of APK "Trakia" As a student at the high school Georgi Tuefchiev he felt drawn to painting and especially to watercolor painting. He enrolled in specialized painting courses at the then Repin collective, at OSIC and GESIT, Plovdiv, which later became an incubator of frames - future talented Plovdiv artists. He has been a member of this collective for 20 years, and for the last 15 years he was also elected a secretary of the collective, during which time he made his first 3 exhibitions: one at the Textile Fiber Company on Brezovsko Shose Str. , Plovdiv, the second on Otets Paisiy Street and the third in Peshtera - a cinema in the city. All three exhibitions were a great success and the first purchases of paintings were made.
As a first-year agronomist, Georgi became acquainted with H.H. Zlatio Boyadzhiev. The folk artist offers him to present 3 paintings for his jury. Zlaty Boyadzhiev is very fond of the young artist's works and offers to take him as a student without asking him for money. The folk artist likes his original approach to watercolor and his desire to cultivate himself. Subsequently, G. Tyufchiev remains the only student, his beloved after the paralyzing of the People's Artist. Zlatie Boyadzhiev introduced him to the other two of the “Barats”, namely N.H. Vasil Barakov and David Pepper. They start visiting beautiful places in the Rhodopes, Ravna Thrace, Pirin. Zlatie loves to have him draw Watermills in Kuklen and the surrounding area. Zlaty Boyadzhiev had the greatest influence on G. Tyufchiev, for the People's Artist he said: "I learned the most from Zlatyou -" The Golden Golden Palette - a colorful and exciting, reflecting rural life.
Despite all that has been learned from these three "Titans of Painting", G. Tyufchechiev is not tempted to follow their paved path, but goes on the path of a constant search for new methods and techniques in watercolor painting and manages to create for 52 years from the beginning your own handwriting, and more recently your own style in watercolor.
Already in 1980, when he made his first exhibition as a professional artist as a member of the UBA group Plovdiv, he managed to attract the attention of the great luminaries in painting.
The jury's assessment of his first solo exhibition at 32 Gladstone Street is the highest and highest recognition of his talent. The review by the greatest critic - art critic Prof. Dr. Atanas Boshkov, says of the exhibition and its author "that this is a novelty in Watercolor and shares that what he saw here gives him the right to call the author" Van Gogh of Watercolor "Professor Boshkov says, that he has traveled all over the world and for the first time sees watercolors so saturated and made with lyrical feeling that they have influenced him with the power of oil painting, while being made with great finesse and "brilliantly executed technique"
The author's last jubilee exhibition in 1999 is again highly appreciated by the professional jury - an acknowledgment of his uniqueness and hard work.
At his next solo exhibition in November 2009, Georgi Tuefchiev received an honorary diploma from the mayor of Plovdiv Slavcho Atanasov for his complete creativity and contribution to the cultural heritage of the city.
In recent years the author has worked exclusively in the field of chamber watercolor. His Crucifixion, purchased in Germany, stands on the cover of an album released in Germany with works by 87 Bulgarian artists.
