Jodie Morgan grew up on the west side of Council’s Bend in Hickman County in a little log cabin built by her parents. A child of the 80’s and 90’s, Jodie always occupied herself with artistic pursuits and developed a love of photography in her teenage years. She was the winner of the inaugural youth art contest for the then new Tennessee Titans stadium and was honored to have her work hung inside the new stadium.
Upon graduating, Jodie packed her Honda Accord and left her hometown for the big city of Memphis to pursue a degree in Art at the University of Memphis. There she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts and exhibited her surreal photography work in her senior class show in downtown Memphis in 2005.
Since graduating college many moons ago, Jodie has been many things; a waitress, a wedding and family photographer, a seamstress, a writer, food photographer and recipe developer, a caterer and most recently the manager for her family’s winery here in Centerville, TN. Jodie is also a wife and mother to 13 year old twins.
Her fine art photography can be broken into two different areas; one is a study of shape, color and form in still lives and in nature and the other a pursuit of fun and whimsical story telling in her series, Pear-sonality.
