Gardens at Twilight

An assorted array of all things enchanting and childlike, I love to garden and read and paint, and play board games and dance in thunderstorms, play with kittens and flying pigs and stargaze, daydream and be a mermaid and eat chocolate in the middle of the night. I'm also a vegan and love all the animals, plants, and people on this beautiful planet. Married to my best friend and soulmate, too! Life is pretty awesome.
I have been making art for as long as I can remember. From the time I was old enough to finger paint and construct sand structures, I've known that I was destined to be an artist. Whether with paint, or clay, or paper and crayons, creative expression has always been, to me, the universal language of visual emotion. I discovered at an early age that I could convey my intense feelings and vivid dreams in a way that words could never seem to. I was a highly sensitive child, and felt the spiritual realm to be more real than the physical.
As a child in elementary school, I was blessed with a wonderful art teacher who made a very deep impression on me--one that would forever shape the way I viewed the world and myself, and my art as an expression of the two. It was from him that I learned that true and authentic art is something that comes from within, it is an extension of one's very soul and as such, should never be negatively judged and harshly criticized... but accepted and celebrated for its uniqueness and individuality. We are all a bunch of messed up little snowflakes, after all! This approach to life and art has continued to grow and mature inside of me throughout the years and the many significant life experiences I've had, and has brought me to where I am now....
Everything that I create comes from very profound emotional places inside of me, and reflect my memories, dreams, lost hopes, old fears, sorrows, joys, heartbreaks, and glorious victories. Such are the things that make up a life fully lived. My hope is that my work resonates with people in deep spiritual and emotional ways. So much of our human experience is unfathomable. Words are a poor vehicle to convey so much of what we experience in life, and creative expression, I have found, is the only way to express the deep longings of my soul. Simply put, I do it because it is what I was designed to do. I believe we human creatures are God's handiwork, created in his image and therefore, the creative process is innate in each one of us.
I utilize a plethora of materials to express my creative nature: acrylic and watercolor paints, my awesome Canon Rebel T5 camera, digital painting and illustrating, polymer clay, seashells and beach glass, rocks and semi-precious stones, beads, stickers, markers, glitter.... I make art out of anything and everything.
I happily accept custom orders and commission work! It is my pleasure to work with each customer on a personal level to make your dream or vision a reality. Please do not hesitate to contact me with all sorts of requests--It brings me incredible joy to honor them!
