I'm preparing a symphony using all elements and mediums in a rhythm that will play good music. Music is used as a timeline. Whether a slow jam, a jazz groove, or hip-hop. I use music as my inspiration in creating in my pieces. I am a detached observer who is able to record events and scenes occurring around me. I internalize and infuse them with my own emotions and feelings. These images deal with realism, abstractionism, politics, and fantasy.
I will consider myself a printmaker, mixed media artist who enjoys drawing portraits and collaging abstract pieces. That was inspired by friends and family throughout my life and places I've traveled abroad. Each one of my pieces is influenced by someone in my life or a journey of events that have taken me places throughout the years. Various people always talk about how I'm able to catch the essence of someone's likeness in my portraits. Most people that see my work are amazed at how I was able to construct the pieces by combining various colors, shapes, and forms into a collage. As my mentor will always tell me if I don't teach you anything else at least you would know designing composition.
These pieces that you see before you today I will consider it my b****** Brew which is a jazz album by Miles Davis. Tills with highs and lows but the excitement of color in the festivity of things to come.
