This is a scene from the historic area of New Orleans, Louisiana known as the French Quarter. For over 20 years I have been creating paintings from the Quarter. It is an area rich in history and culture unlike other cities in the United States. I live in Dallas most of the year but spend my summers in New Orleans. It is my second home. Over the years I have noticed how an area that has historically stayed the same for centuries is really in a constant state of flux. I now have over five hundred paintings showing changes from before hurricane Katrina to after and up to the present.
