At the time I painted this artwork I was in Naples, Italy. At that time I suffered from culture shock and I used that as an inspiration. This particular painting was based on a picture in my imagination about my life in a different invironment, one that I was not really keen on but wanted to enjoy it. That why the pose of the woman (who is myself) is quite struggling between relaxing and discomfort. The colours and the title came to my mind when I was on the lungomare di Napoli: the big white rock and the sea struggled the same way, as my thoughts on the city.
