As Late Dr. Pushpa Mitra Bhargava,Former Founder Director,CCMB observes -
“Rural India is the real India, for it is there that the unique spirit of the country resides. It is that India that has given us, nurtured, and sustained the values that from the glorious component of our tradition – values that have been often, unfortunately, all but lost in most of the urban Indians.
V.V.Swamy comes from such rural India and he brings to his creative work – be it his writing or painting – the essence of the beauty, both external and internal, of this India, which has been the bedrock of all that we cherish about our country and all that the rest of the world craves for.
Swamy spent a part of his professional life in the PR profession to which profession he brought to bear an uncommon sense of values and social commitment – something that is reflected in his paintings. His paintings are thus not mere caricatures of reality.
They are realistic representations of all that surrounds us – be it people, places or events. It is easy for the viewer to identify himself or herself with what one is viewing when one looks at Swamy’s works (both his paintings and writings). There is something lyrical and passionate about them that appeals to our innate aesthetic sense.”
