Envy-wanting what others have and that feeling can lead to doing that person harm to get it. Daryl has exemplified this since the beginning and although his place in the group is solid, he still keeps his distance, working through these feelings. Envy- balanced by Charity, symbolized by ‘giving’ the loaf of bread.
The Circle symbol is that of Leviathan, the demon of envy.Daryl wears green, the color of envy. The wings from his leather vest are almost hidden behind him, blending with the green of his robes-a part of him but a symbol of ‘angelic’ responsibility he may not be ready to accept. He wears a dog collar iin a casual manner, as if the label of the animal of envy is an easy thing for him to bear.
His cross bow sits snugly tucked just under his heart, ever connected to him, ‘for better or worse’, his right hand raised in the manner of Jesus’s blessings-symbolizing Daryl’s connection to his humanity/envy while making a small attempt to overcome and move towards a higher state.
