Art has always been a huge part of my life. As a young child I would ignore the colouring books mounting up beside me in favour of creating my own pictures. These days I’m constantly searching for exciting scenes whilst travelling then beavering away in my studio when home.
When interpreting a subject I like to create a heightened perception of colour, texture and detail which all fascinate me. Using a variety of media to accomplish a piece I will use anything from lolly pop sticks and sand to costume jewellery, nothing is off limits and all add a tangible quality to a canvas.
Using my existing skills and knowledge and honing those with my instinct for the subject, I like to paint with a degree of spontaneity. I wish to create artwork that has an almost imperceptible beauty for the viewer. Fascination for the eye and an emotional impact for the soul.
A good piece of music always makes the process more meaningful too.
I currently reside in a rural village in North Warwickshire with my husband, two children and somewhat grumpy little dog. I paint and draw in my colourful garden studio.
