Steve Brumme

I have a balanced life. I am a martial artist and a painter. Those two disciplines-learning to protect the outer world, and then nuture the inner world is how I attain this blend.

Added to this balance I have learned how to overcome great difficulties. As I child I was diagnosed with polio and lost the use of my legs. Because I have developed the skill finding happiness in every small thing I do. And I do so much.

I am vertical wall climber.
A long distance hand cyclist.
A gymnast on the high rings.
A gold medalist martial arts who has designed a system called Iron Crutch Kung Fu.
A scholar.
A writer.
A public speaker.
A personal power coach and master art teacher.
A godfather and cherished uncle.
And a friend to many.
And yes, a master painter.

My art education began when I was two years of age and picked up a crayon. Whereas many people stop drawing, I didn't.
When I was 13 I studied water color under the tutalage of a master watercolorist for my summer vacation.
At 14 I studied portrait drawing at Lorrain Community College.
At 15 I received an award for Best Painter at the Ohio Governors Annual Art Exhibition.
I went on to complete my B.F.A. degree at Bowling Green State University with a concentration in Painting and Illustration.
I apprenticed with Art Associates, an architectural rendering company. Studied the 18th Century Dutch Master Jan Vermeer and the 21 Century American Master, Maxfield Parish in the European time-honored tradition of painting reproduction.
I have shown in major galleries in New York City. Atlanta, Georgia. Taos, New Mexico. San Francisco, California as well as many more.
