Stephen Homewood Artist

Stephen Homewood is an Australian, Contemporary artist.

Stephen has grown up in Queensland surrounded by the vibrant colours / native birds and animals that come through in his work from time to time.

Stephen's paintings are constantly changing in style and subject matter and are full of Australian history and Culture. Ned Kelly, the 1st Australian convicts and trackers are one of the many themes he explores, as well as a fascination with the human condition (disease and decay) so he often puts these figures into his Australian landscapes making them seem distorted but sensual.

Stephen is a prolific painter. He is constantly working, doing daily studies and working on new ideas and styles to explore his own techniques. Stephen uses no visual references to produce work, they are done from memory or imagination.

Stephen's work has been hung in exhibitions all over the world. HIs most recent was at Milton House Gallery, Mackay, where the famous Artist Donald James Waters opened his solo exhibition.
