My name is Gordon Weiler and I live in the north woods of Wisconsin. I'm a senior citizen that started painting when my wife said that I needed a hobby. I was pretty good at drawing way back in my school days so I though why not try painting. I started watching Jerry Yarnell and Bob Ross on PBS TV to learn some of the techniques in painting. I gave painting a try and loved it. I find it very challenging and relaxing. The part of the country I live in is so tranquil and beautiful with all it's lakes and forests you can't help but get inspiration. My favorite type of painting is landscape and wildlife. I do all my painting in acrylic and it's covered over with a clear acrylic spray to protect it. I'm a cancer survivor and I now look at the world with a different perspective. I see beauty in things now that I use to just walk by. I try to capture that beauty in my paintings.
