I always wanted to be an artist. I started drawing when I was about 5, little stick figures. I was raised in New Orleans and in 5th grade i was blessed to attend Jackson Avenue School on Magazine Street. Right across from our school their was a place for the kids to go after school and learn all kinds of wonderful things. I chose art. We had a wonderful teacher who also took us on trips to museums. I managed to earn a few ribbons in her classes. When I got older I started with The Famous Artist Course but unfortunately didn't finish. Instead I got married and had 2 beautiful, wonderful children. And now I'm a grandmother and great grandmother. I am now 72 and finally able to pursue my dream of being an artist. It has been a little over a year since I started drawing and painting again. In fact about April of 2020. I sold my first painting to my wonderful Dr this year. It was a portrait of his cute little Westie Elvis. That was my first doggie portrait. I had a bit of a rough time, but I was determined and it came out good with a lot of help from God
