I am an illustrator inspired by the stories and renderings of timeless fairy tales and literary classics.
I remember feeling the effect of illustration on the whole story, making it seem more alive, despite the age of the story being told. Now, as an illustrator graduating from the Ringling College of Art and Design, I am able to better appreciate the impact beautiful illustrations have on the imaginations of children as well as adults.

In my work I attempt to express my passion for stories and fairy tales. Since the invention of the printing press, illustration has accompanied the retelling of traditional tales through generations of people. Styles have changed, but the heart of a tale stays with us. Fairy tales, or folk tales, often address moral lessons or explanations of the world around us. Stories can even tell us about the people from whom they originated, as well as timeless lessons anyone can learn from.

My developing work has been increasingly influenced by Golden Age illustrators, namely the work of Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. My work is done much the same as theirs was over one hundred years ago, with ink and crow quill, and watercolor painting. My illustrations are primarily traditional, as well as decorative. In the future I hope to challenge myself further and contribute beautiful work to be enjoyed by all ages
