I was raised in the country near the little town of Reeseville, WI. Growing up, my brothers and I played outside, exploring the outdoors. Being outside of town when you are little, you have to get creative to avoid getting bored. I had always wanted a horse to spend my days riding. Before I had my first horse, I carried a sketch pad along with me everywhere I went. I was fascinated with the idea of drawing the things I would encounter in front of me, on magazine pages, in my mind. My parents bought a lawn mower shop and at a young age, I spent a lot of time there drawing on my mom's desk as she worked. Art has been a fascination since I could remember. Later, I made the discovery that my grandma was a very talented painter. She had an art room upstairs and I spent time with her during my parent's vacations learning how to use acrylic paints and brushes. She was incredibly talented and I yearned to be able to do the same things with those brushes that she could through her years of experience.
Throughout my school aged years, my love of art grew as I became further inspired by some fantastic art teachers throughout elementary, middle and high school, I spent my lunch hours and study halls as a junior/senior in the art room. That was the only place in the school that I truly felt at home. I began to attend college classes for art education. I wanted to develop other young artists, to teach them and realize their talents. Later, I became pregnant with my daughter and never finished my degree. My daughter is now turning 12. I am attending classes again (this time for Marketing), painting, riding horses, working and enjoying life as an adult living out in the country and continuing to experiment with my paintbrush.
