Native to Northeast Ohio, I first started painting when I lived in North Dakota. Much of my inspiration came from the landscapes and open sky of the plains, along with the wet on wet technique made so popular by Bob Ross.
Having returned to the Cleveland area after spending over a decade in North Dakota, I am lucky to quite literally have the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in my backyard. I get my inspirational fix with long hikes through the National Park, visits to Lake Erie, and the vacations that I am fortunate to take.
My intention as an artist is to create works that maintain a certain degree of subtlety and humility, yet capture the highlights of the world around us.
