Sacramento based artist, Oscar Romero, finds inspiration in shareable moments. He paints in a representational style working mainly with oil paints on canvas or wood panels. Oscar’s marks sometimes suggest and sometimes declare, as he tries to build a bridge between his work and the viewer, therefore allowing them to fill the space between what he paints and what they see. Born in El Salvador and raised in California, he studied under David Hardy at The School of Classical Realism in Oakland. He admires artists such Jerome Witkin and Käthe Kollwitz, who are able to capture the human experience.
