Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
I tend to agree with Mr. Merton- I'm much happier when I believe that.
I've been drawing since I was a little kid...somehow I was fascinated with both Pokemon and ancient Egyptian culture; my sketchbooks were comprised of Pharaohs and Pikachus alike. Drawing, to me, has always been an escape, and when I look back at my artwork after I had long since finished it, it gives me a very satisfying feeling. I try to grow as I learn, to become the best artist that I can be. I welcome constructive criticism like an old friend; I always want to improve. Art, to me, is the one of the very few things I have in my life that doesn't feel like a chore, yet requires a lot of work.
One reason I'm selling my artwork is because, like everyone else, I need the money. I work third shift at a department store for minimum wage and I live mostly on my own with my roommate. I'm very much hoping to get into the tattoo industry in the near future. It's a very scary idea for me but I've loved ink in skin since I was 15. Some days I'm all motivated to do it but some other days I'm scared shitless. But regardless, anything I do in life is going to be scary. For me, it's an opportunity to learn things I never knew I could do.
So that's it, I think. If you would like to drop me an email for any reason, such as a commission, or just if you have a comment on one of my works, you can send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.. anything is appreciated!
One more thing...I'm not posting all of my artwork on this website, but you can see just about everything I've done here---->http://sriebs.deviantart.com/
