After attending several art academies, Louvain based artist, Sandrine Pochet, has been honing her skills since 2002. Her art expresses itself primarily in painting but also in drawing, printing and sculpture.
Sandrine’s evolution over the years let her acquire a variety of styles moving from figurative to abstract and back, as well as different techniques: pastel, crayon, acrylics, oil painting, mixed media,… She is particularly interested in creating a flowing, minimalistic movement and presents simple yet powerful visual imagery through the use of colours and luminosity.
Informed by Abstract Expressionism, Modern, Minimalistic Art and embracing exaggerated hues and boldly simplified or distorted forms, she desires to attract the inquisitive viewer. The notion of the graphic impulse delivers a directness and simultaneously attempts to integrate softness in the final result.
