Finishing Touches Art Gallerywww.ArtPal.com/sallytagliere
After many years of having set my art on the back burner of life I found myself with an empty nest. Even though I worked a full time job, there were still hours of the day seemingly going to waste, so my long unused paints and brushes again went to work. There were so many oil paintings done, but a glut of glass panes building up in the house. My husband became tired of living with the stacks of glass, and asked what I had planned for them. After sleeping on it, I remembered the old reverse paintings on glass in the antique shop I grew up in, even remembering thinking how great it would be to paint like that. After several minor accidents, I switched over to painting on plexiglass. Since I started painting on the plexi, there has been no breakage of paintings.
Last year, after retiring from work, I realized I would need something to do. The building I had put up on my commercial property was in need of resurrection. With the help of my husband, it was emptied, cleaned, and beefed up so there was room for several artists to display their work. Now we run a small gallery housing some of the work of 12 people, including my own work.
