Hello, I am Rick Woollett, artist, son, husband, father, and grandfather. I was born in New Zealand and came to live in the United States, my mother’s homeland, when I was four years old. I lived in Connecticut during my younger years; lived in Durham while I attended UNH; and returned to New Hampshire permanently with a family of my own in 1989.
I developed an interest in painting about 25 years ago, and have been slowly honing my craft since then. I have participated in several arts and crafts shows and have sold paintings through word of mouth. But mostly I have given my art away. It gives me joy to hand a painting to a friend who has admired it or to donate a piece to a charity auction. Now that I am retired, I can delve into the process more often.
The artist Bob Ross has been a great inspiration to me. I specialize in nature scenes. As I paint, stress seems to melt away. As people view art, it conveys a sense of place and can be an instrument for spiritual contemplation. I hope as you view my paintings you will experience that sense of place and spiritual contemplation. Enjoy!
