Hi my name is Rob and here are my photographs.
Grab yourself a coffee and take a look.
I like to think the work is strong and dynamic, thought provoking and graphic, iconic and powerful.
From the city monoliths of New York to the pristine beaches of the Andaman Islands, I have always travelled with a camera. Commercial projects have taken me from Europe to Asia, Australasia to the USA, Africa to the Middle East. Personal projects have remained, processed and stored, across countless hard-drives. Lost to the time-poor constraints of a commercial existence.
Then came Covid-19 and I was no longer able to travel, but instead, I travelled through 6 Terra-bites of information and collated my favourite images for your perusal.
Finally an opportunity had arrived to work on my own projects. Something that I felt represented a little piece of myself, through the image, but more importantly, the magical, abstract and surreal, world in which we all live.
To summarise I would say that the images fall under the heading of ethereal, other worldly.
Photographic techniques, along with composition, timing, and an array of incredible landscapes, have enabled me, along with a slightly left of centre mind, to create, some unique imagery.
The idea is to make the viewer, stop, look, then look again. Culminating in that "Aha! I see what he did there.....that's clever" moment.
It is, after all, the job of the photographer, to see the world in a new way, like a child visiting a new country for the first time.
I hope you like the photographs as much as I have enjoyed making them.
So the next time you see a tall guy, camera in hand, with a London accent, climbing a wall or crouching on the pavement, in order to get the perfect composition, come and say hi and we can share in this great surreal landscape together
