A memory is, in essence, a restricted feeling of a moment in the past. Using my prints to create sculptures and environments, I attempt to recollect a memory of my own. My work translates this sensory inventory of a feeling, environment, or person into something tangible. There is a repetitive nature to each piece, a mood or a feeling that is taken from this repetition whether it be bliss, anger, love or anxiety. Fragments of patterns and details are repeated, layered and abstracted by the cutting and layering of paper to create a high relief installation.
