My father was a self-taught artist. He was my first art teacher. Then I had the benefit of a very good art teacher, Mr. Inamdar, in school.
Mr Inamdar was a very talented professional artist and illustrator. We were awestruck by his sketches, which he used to draw with chalk on a big black board in the Staff Room. Everyday there used to be a new one - with many characters all covering the whole big blackboard in a single composition.
He encouraged me and many of my fellow students to appear for Art examinations conducted by Government agencies. All these factors helped to prepare the ground.
I participated in Group Art Exhibitions sporadically.
Only after retiring from my professional job, I could delve deeper into the subject.
