Steve was born and raised in and around Kenton, Ohio, and after graduating from high school, he attended and graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design, earning his B.F.A. with a major in Illustration in 1990.
As an artist, Steve enjoys drawing and painting many things, such as animals, people, cars, Amish life, fantasy related themes, and sometimes anything that's out of the ordinary. Versatile in many types of media, including acrylics, oils, pastels, pencils, and airbrushes, Steve can create almost anything. Often he starts with a rough idea that he sketches on paper, then he refines his sketches until his idea looks satisfying to him. After the sketch is complete, he transfers the image to canvas or illustration board so he can begin the painting.
Through the years Steve has worked on a number of projects, including commissioned portraits, murals for high schools, and magazine illustrations.
Steve and his wife, Heidi, now live in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
