Creating images which take on a life of their own during the process is a very satisfying and exhilarating activity. My path out of the confusion of choices presented to beginners in fine art was found via the teachings of Paul Klee. His maxim "The way and the work join to form a new independent whole.." offered a glimpse that once adhered to grew into a solid trail. I often work in a thematic fashion, wrestling with some means of measurement in order to present a statement of some manner or another. I believe in a free choice of elements and at present I am doing some low relief pictures. My experience in sculpture and painting and printmaking may all come together in this vein.
