Hello, my name is Mark. I started experimenting with photography back in the mid 1980s, shooting photos of trains and decommissioned railroad engines and switchers. It wasn't until around 2008 that I started to re-discover photography, and developed a deep interest in the desert southwest U.S. In 2015, I finally bought a Nikon DSLR and started getting more into the technical aspects of digital photography, and then into the creative side of it. Over the last few years, I started reading about Ansel Adams, and realized he was the person that shot some of my favorite photos, especially at Monument Valley. Now that I've had more time to spend on my craft, and work on my own style, I'm able to share with the rest of the world what I see through the lens. I hope you enjoy and appreciate what you see. My blog can be found at http://protostar-photo.com and you can also find me on Twitter @Protostar66
