PowysArt is an online gallery based in Mid-Wales United Kingdom. It was set up to celebrate the Life and works of renowned Welsh Artists- The Late Winifred and Jack Francis. For over 50 years they delighted numerous galleries throughout the UK, showcasing their wide variety of fine Art.

WINIFRED FRANCIS 1915- 2005

Winifred Francis Was a renowned Welsh Artist from the small Market town of Builth Wells. Over the span of 70 years she, along with her husband jack, delighted numerous Galleries showing off their unique and wide variety of styles from their pencil's, pens and brushes.

History

After training as a graphic artist in Manchester, She embarked on a varied - and at times glamorous career as a war artist,a programme designer for Royal Command performances and as a successful commercial designer in London, where her work included the highly successful brand images for 'Cusson's Imperial Leather' which some of her designs have stood the test of time and still adorning our bathroom cabinets today.

Collection of works

Winifred rarely sold her work resulting in a unique collection of sketches, etchings and paintings covering a span of over 70 years. Her family have now decided to let go of some her works, so that Art Lovers and others alike can enjoy or own a small piece of her legacy.
