Father & husband with three children. Semi retired. Born: 1956.
Began painting still life using oils in early twenties. Currently painting non objective, abstract expressionism. Enjoy using miscellaneous tools for my art as well as traditional tools. Scouring pads, string, skewers, sponge brushes ect. Love to express myself through creating color combinations, working quickly adding color here and there as I let the piece progress. Like to paint quickly sometimes allowing broad strokes until putting in the more finite finishes to my art.
I believe color can be a powerful stimuli even to the point of healing and I believe that non objective art is just as powerful as objective art, perhaps more so. I like to think that my art somehow helps others. That observing it might give their minds a bit of a respite from whatever concerns that might be troubling them.
Most important art lesson: My art is a part of me. 2nd most important lesson: When to know the piece is finished.
