About Larissa McLean

I have been a practicing artist for most of my life -- when I was 6, I put up an art stand rather than a lemonade stand in front of my house.

I studied printmaking at the Alberta College of Art and Design, then obtained a BEd from University of British Columbia. I've been a professional artist for over 20 years and an Art and Horticulture teacher for over 13 years.

Originally from Calgary/High River, AB, I now reside in Courtenay, BC after falling in love with the west coast's vibrant forest and sea wildlife ecosystems. I want my art to reflect the spiritual connection we all share with the natural world, and devote a portion of art sales to causes such as the Ancient Forest Alliance, the Cumberland Community Forest (https://www.cumberlandforest.com/), and seek to use my art to promote the preservation of the threatened ecosystems adjacent to Cowichan Lake on Vancouver Island.
