The painting shows a stylized image of the moon decorated with carp and water lilies. The main idea is to combine the two seasons (winter and summer) - it resembles an ice hole for fishing, but at the same time provides warm weather conditions for water lilies to bloom. Since the carp spawns in a certain period (can be compared with the lunar cycle), and the water Lily blooms in due time.
