This series of painting was started when I was nine months pregnant with my son. It was a naive and abstract reflection ( fantasy) of my expectation of motherhood ( pastel shaped egg like shapes ) . Seven years later my son gave permission for me to copy his drawings onto the previous paintings .He was going trough a phase of monsters and super heroes, he loves cartoons , , good and bad as a simultaneous experience . Adding his drawings in a textured medium , to my paintings added to the reality of being a mother, sometimes it is great , sometimes it is good and there are times I am a monster as well.
