Nevine Fathy is a figurative artist with a passion for oil painting. She is interested in the Oneness of creation, the intrinsic human nature with art being its divine expression, authentic passion and energetic exchange. She explores the universality of human emotional experiences when immersed in single focal timeless point of attention. Her paintings seek to invoke a recognition of the perfection of the present moment when fully experienced with all the senses.
Fathy is inspired by deeply moving experiences, the awe inspiring moments when magic becomes almost tangible. Observation, imagination, memories, photos merge into a medley of flowing colours in perpetual motion. A fleeting moment becomes an immortal experience of lights, music and feelings.
Teetering between figuration and abstraction, reality and imagination, memory and fantasy, the intricate images captures the viewer in a playful journey. Using complementary colours tricks the eyes into an illusion of movement, different mixing mediums and paint applications achieve a variety of marks expressively and intuitively inviting the figures to a colourful dance. Always working to music, the paint flow intuitively as dictated by the image as well as the visceral materiality of the oily pigments.
