Although I have had minimal formal training in art, and that was in sculpture for the most part which I loved doing, I have always wanted to paint, too. I am now retired from business life and I can put most of my time to drawing, painting or using pastels to which I have recently found an affinity. And so, I have devoted the last 10 years to honing my skills and in the interim wining a couple of awards in juried Art Shows in the Philadelphia region. In 2017 and again in 2018 I won Best in Show at the Haddonfield New Jersey, Haddon Fortnightly's, "Through a Woman's Eyes", Juried Show, and taken multiple Honorable Mentions. I have many works in local collections and others throughout the USA and Europe.
My art is mostly realistic and reflects the natural world, but I occasionally like to try out something different. I don't worry about what is in vogue right now, because I paint how I see things and like to paint them. I paint from the heart and from memories accrued from many years and life's experiences. I take inspiration from the natural world. Most importantly, my many wonderful vacations in New England and Maine with its mountains, lakes, amazing coastline, islands and stunning scenery. And also from the quite beauty that is the rolling hills of Pennsylvania near Philadelphia, the region where I live. I hope my art appeals to you. I would be happy to consider a gallery in the Philadelphia region or mid-coast Maine, if there is one interested in carrying my work. I am easy to work with!
I do accept commissions on occasion. My latest one was inspired from an African Safari. So, please feel free to contact me: 267 474 5789 or firstname.lastname@example.org. A website is coming soon!
