Agung (Nano) Prahwono
www.ArtPal.com/nano-nanoAgung (Nano) Prahwono is a contemporary artist who grew up in a remote village in South Sumatra. One of eight children in a poor family, Nano never had the privilege to complete his schooling. To avoid a life of desperate poverty, he moved to Bali in his late teens, and worked tirelessly in low-paying jobs, while he learnt English and French with tourists.
When he was just 21, a chance meeting with an artist who would soon become his mentor, paved Nano's future... and so began his love affair with paint and canvas.
Since then, Nano's work has been highly regarded in Bali's art community and by collectors around the world.
