Mystic Edwards is an Emerging artist based in the UK. Mystic is a self-taught artist and developed her skills during COVID 19 whilst teaching her 3 young children. Anytime mystic paints, she is in a different world some would say in somewhat of a spiritual or trance state.
Art is Mystic’s way out from all the stress she goes through on a daily basis. She likes to express her feelings on each piece she works on. She paints in a small section in her kitchen. Mystic mostly paints during the night when all the kids are asleep, through that she can focus and be in her own world, she also painted severally with her kids around, juggling between looking after them and expressing herself in the piece she is working on.
Mystic believes she has found her purpose on this earth because she is now fulfilled, and she is totally obsessed with this new found love. She has always had a gift of seeing things in her sleep, growing up as a child, she had a lot of dreams and visions about colours, patterns, things in the spiritual realm, but never understood until recently. When she came to an understanding of the immaculate gift she has, she decided to put it into use by translating her dream on to the canvas and sharing it with the world.

Mystic has a vast collection with each one of her pieces showing depths, details, connection, movement and sound. Her abstract paintings come from her heart. Expressing emotion as a visual language, using Pure colour and expressive marks to connect and communicate. Her art is most often described as something that emits a special light and magic that is both spiritual and moving. She builds and create enchanting layers in the painting with great spontaneity, overlooking the representation of concrete objects in favour of indefinable meanings and feelings.

Even though this was a new found and self-taught skills with no previous experience, she has always had a gift of seeing colours, patterns, and other things in her dreams since she was a child. Each of her paintings brings different moods, colours and emotions. She loves to experiment, and she realises the best part of creating is often the astonish result when you try something new.
Mystic uses only the best quality paints, and the medium. She currently works with acrylic, metallic on canvas. Her style is anything she sees around, from brushes, to pallet knives, sticks, paper, etc. She sometimes incorporates her toddlers’ toys and it’s whatever her spirit calls for that she uses. She mostly enjoys using acrylics because of its versatility, its quick drying time, and it suits her fine for her type of paintings.
Mystic sees objects as a lexicon of emotions. Everything that she is surrounded with is automatically processed into her pieces, she uses different parts of her body; legs, feet, fingers, etc. Being able to do what her mind and spirit tells her and demonstrate herself is why she loves art immensely.
Mystic gets inspirations everyday and translates it in her paintings, making sure different angles are looked at, this also includes the sides of the canvas, the whole canvas is a space, and she makes sure they speak and connect to the viewers. When making abstract art, she aims to show her creativity and also the level of her spirituality whilst keeping the artwork in equilibrium; this is to show that she didn’t just toss a bunch of random colours onto the canvas. Mystic’s art has a depth in her work and sometimes the chaos around her reflects in all her paintings, this is her own way of expressing who she is as an artist. Art to her is about being able to allow her mind to wander around and create perceptible enchanting pieces
