Artist Myrtha Hall took drawing classes at the legendary Centre d'Art d'Haiti in
1946 when she was only 13 years old. She then graduated from the Foyer des
Arts Plastiques and also holds a fashion design degree from the Mayer Design
School in New york.
Although she primarily apprenticed with Lucien Price, her drawing professor,
she also worked with several Haitian Masters including Luce Turnier,
Luckner Lazarre, Rolland Dorceli, Dieudonne Cedor and Max Pinchinat among
Myrtha's work can be defined as "lyrical abstract": as her painting celebrates
life in its most basic and authentic forms.
