I am a nurse by trade but an artist at heart.
My dad introduced me to art when I was a kid. I remember spending weekends with him where we would wake up before sunrise, have coffee, there was music playing in the background...he would look at me and ask "what should we draw today?" My dad was an abstract painter. He sketched and wrote poetry as well. He died when I was 12 years old and I didn't touch art until many years later.
It wasn't until I had my own kids that I realized how much I missed it. Helping them with school projects really helped reignite the creativity in me. I've spent several years drawing and working on those skills but I always wanted to paint, just like dad did. He had this amazing ability to put his vision on canvas. I knew I had the ability, I just didn't know how to tap into it.
I started looking at other people's art on Pinterest. Videos of other's creations. That's when it all finally clicked for me. I have my own style and approach to painting. I use palette knives to paint, on rare occasion a brush for some small details.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I've enjoyed creating it!
