Sharp, clear, lines and vivid color, coupled with mesmerizing composition create wonderful pieces by Christopher Mixon.
As a young boy, Mixon’s mother nicknamed him “Fer” short for Christopher and that is how he is referred to today. Growing up near the ocean on the beautiful Palos Verdes peninsula, Fer developed a lifetime love of the ocean and surfing.
Developing a keen interest in print making, led to coursework at the prestigious Otis/Parsons Art Institute located in downtown Los Angeles. Fer pursued his artistic passion at Arizona State University and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to his passion for art, he went on to complete a Master’s Degree in education and has taught elementary school for the last 20 years.
Fer’s pieces are represented in many mediums, and reflect his notion that the finished product dictates what medium and materials are implemented.
