Benson began his career as a computer programmer and analyst, spending 40 years engrossed in the technical side of information technology. After retirement, Benson’s interests turned away from the technical and toward the artistic.. He believes that this change in attitude as he grew older is a not uncommon. Benson tried not growing older (like his idol, Peter Pan) but that didn't happen. Therefore, he has bowed to the inevitable and happily spends much of his time generating computer fractal art.
Benson receives his ideas from different sources. Sometimes something just strikes his funnybone. Other times he may be influenced by a spiritual thought. Or, he will just find a particular image intriguing. It is hard to know when or if inspiration will strike, but the idea is to realize when it does and seize the moment.
