Led by a torch-carrying zebra are an energetic elephant, galloping giraffe, rambunctious rhino, heart-healthy hippo and a monkey mascot. Hi there! My name is Melissa Spears and I’ve been a graphic designer for that past 25 years but my real passion is illustrating children’s books! I’m so fortunate to be able to make a living doing something I truly love!

I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Illustration. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, where I live today with my husband and a house full of pets, including a hedgehog. We have two adult daughters, Katelyn and Madisen, that are attending college nearby.
