Matthew Marquette is a self-taught artist originating from Brampton, Ontario with most of his teenage and adult years spent living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With years of experience through sketching, drawing and painting, Matthew finds joy through oil painting in his unique modern impressionistic style. He is greatly inspired by Van Gogh, Monet, Gauguin, and other impressionists of that era. An exciting time for Matthew was when he had the opportunity to have some of his works displayed in the Keshen Goodman Public Library, where he is employed. He is proud to say he has created hundreds of oil paintings over the years. Although he has no former experience in a gallery setting, he has great ambition as an emerging artist and is driven to have his art displayed and loved everywhere by everyone.
