Mary Jane Grow

Mary Jane Grow is an artist and a native to the American West and finds inspiration in the varied subjects she finds there. She has worked alongside many great artists like Jim Wilcox and Carl Purcell and recently with Camille Przewodek. She has developed her own style of finding beauty in things all around her and describing the different keys of light calling herself an “abstract impressionist”.

She started painting at age 12 and went on to complete a Bachelors degree in fine art from Brigham Young University where she studied with James Christensen and many other successful artists as well as doing workshops with famous artists nationally where she always excels. Being proficient with both watercolors and oils she describes things with loose bold colors and dynamic shapes. She loves to paint on site or “en plein air” in all types of terrain. She often paints still life outdoors in much the same way as her landscapes. She believes that “everything under the sun is beautiful”.

She often does commission work for paintings of people, pets, architecture, favorite places, etc. Contact at

You can see her watercolors at “Gallery 35” at 35 South Main Street in St. George UT. Her other art and many of her oils are in display at the Oak Lane Studio in Provo UT. She hosts other artists who teach and she also teaches art students of all ages and ability levels there. Her art continues to be in shows and galleries in Utah, California, Texas and Arizona.
