Marisol Manzano of spanish origin. Her childhood, adolescence and part of her adult life was spent between Spain, Puerto Rico and United Sates.
She studied liberal arts achieving in 1993 a Bachelor's degree in modern languages from the University of Puerto Rico and even though she studied painting and drawing she considers herself self-taught.
In her eclectic style she combines elements from 'naif' painting , surrealism , fauvism, expressionism, cubism; elements used to express one of her fundamental source of inspiration: her early years in Murcia, Spain.
'In my painting recurring themes such as sirens, hearts ,musical instruments,windows; light, colors, shadows are means of expressing memories ,dreams, anecdotes and above... all longing..........
