Maggie Yowell Wilson

Maggie Yowell Wilson is the Director of Faith Formation for Children and Families at Saint James Episcopal Parish in Kent, Washington. She has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Drama Therapy, and has worked for over ten years in community mental health inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently, she served as the Clinic Manager for Valley Cities’ Renton and Rainier Beach Clinics. Maggie also trained as a Spiritual Director, with training at the Haden Institute in North Carolina and the Mercy Center in California.

Maggie likes to think of herself as a Celebrant of Wonder and a Tender of Sacred Story. Her passion is the intersection between Creativity, Spirituality and Mental Health. In addition to working with children and families at St. James, Maggie offers mental health counseling, drama and expressive arts therapy, spiritual direction and clinical supervision as Maggie Yowell Creative Arts Therapy. She is a licensed Mental Health Specialist, Registered Drama Therapist, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, Washington approved Child Mental Health Specialist, Washington approved Geriatric Mental Health Specialist, and Washington approved Clinical Supervisor. She is also a trained SoulCollage™ Facilitator and a Veriditas approved Labyrinth Facilitator. Maggie also practiced law for over twenty years.

As an artist, Maggie's primary media in art is collage, but she has also experimented with photography, painting, ink, drum making and other art media. She likes to capture the sacred in the ordinary and the ordinary in the sacred.
