The use of color has always been a major factor in all my art, the movement of purple through the saturation of blue calls to the elements of the sea where I recall painting as a young artist. The conflict between mind and soul can be found in the rattling of red and orange embattled with yellow to bring about a lasting calm, a mixture of peace and an elegance in a world conflicted by old statesmen grumbling that they could do it all better. I allow my art to speak for me, it absorbs the distractions of life, gives voice to all that is in me but guards so that it never gives too much.
Frederick “Lyle” Von Thrauthemburg Morris’s love of art began at the age of 6, and he sold his first painting at 9, Paris, France. He is a Grumbacher Gold Medalist, whose work was purchased by the late Princess Diana, and his paintings are in permanent collections around the world, including Christian Brothers’ Beverly & Sam Ross Gallery here in Memphis. He is a member of the Bartlett Art Association, Artists’ Link, American Artist, International Artists Association, Mid-South Artists League, Michigan Arts, Mid-South Artist Gallery, and his work can be found online at Fine Art America and other art sites.
