Louis Staeble, fine arts photographer and poet, lives in Bowling Green, Ohio. Staeble has been influenced by a range of artists including Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Rene Magritte, Georgia O'Keeffe and Jackson Pollock. A sense that space overwhelms the human project permeates every aspect and pore of his work. Light lends heat to the senses, conveying subjective ownership to both viewers and artist within an art work. Magritte comes easily to mind as a master of painterly advertisements that sell the meaning of what is seen and felt. Raw photographs convey reality sold to a viewer as an instant, a flash of portable recognition. Staeble's technique strives to merge the flash surface of a photo with the documentary depth of permanent paint. Mass produced for the masses. Yes but a great image survives the organism of self identity, transcends the shouting matches over human identity. A photograph arranges in the scope of focal points brought to bear on the witness's eye.
