Madman Designs

Quite frequently I say, if it's creative, I do it well. If it's practical, I am terrible. Basically this is true. I float through life, but I work hard at the creative stuff. Go back to your coloring book and crayons and see of you can remember how you worked then. Did you stay in the lines? Did you color things their rightful colors? Did you ever take your box of 120 colors and use every color in your picture? Yes. Yes. Yes.

So with those coloring books began my exodus into color and creativity. Add visions of all the Asian art I looked at in the 1970s and the African masks I can to collect in the 1990s and you get an understanding of the deeply esoteric approach I take. I did look at the masters, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Hans Hartung, even Vincent Van Gogh and Cezanne danced before my eyes.

My art comes from the way I float through life. The colors in nature, the architecture styles in the places I've lived, the fondness for the oboe and cello, everything influences my direction.

Yet when all is said and done, I create because it's the one thing I have always been good at. What else can I do?
