Living Art by Brenda

Born in New England and raised in multiple states of the United States. I am now settled in Southern California. I grew up in a Navy family who moved frequently during my childhood. I went to 7 different high schools! The one consistency throughout my life has been my love of creating art and anything found in nature.

During my childhood, I enjoyed drawing, and excelled at realistic representations of animals, people, and trees using pencils. I still have a pencil drawing of a young woman hanging in my home studio dating back to 1977 when I was in high school (one of them anyways LOL).

I attended college studying technology and management and had a successful career in telecommunications before having my children. My second career evolved from volunteering in my daughters’ classrooms. I pursued my love if working with children and became a special education teacher. Often using art in my classroom with my students. I retired from teaching in 2018 and have been rediscovering my first love; art.

Today I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by a loving family (husband, twin daughters, dog and cat), who support me in my artistic efforts and being a full-time artist. My paintings are full of color, vibrant, and textured. I work primarily in acrylics and oils but love trying out new techniques and mediums.

I hope my work brings you as much joy and satisfaction as it does me. Please feel free to contact me with any comments and requests.

Stay safe, happy, and healthy,
